STAFF AND LEADERSHIP TRAINING "SALT"
The purpose of the SALT school is to produce better equipped staff members for our schools and base staff. Through leadership training, the graduates will be better able to lead in a variety of ministries on any local base. For someone desiring to be involved in ministry, the experience and training that is gained in a school environment first will minimize the difficulties that come by just learning as you go. Even more importantly, the graduates of the SALT will be more effective disciplers, thus producing more effective laborers for God's harvest field of discipling nations.
The SALT is a 22-week course, which provides teaching as well as immediate application of the teaching. Each student serves as YWAM staff at the base during their school.
The first 13 weeks consists of the Class Phase where the students will also be involved with their normal staff duties. Some of the topics covered in the classes include the following: Discipleship, Servant Leadership, Team Dynamics, DTS Workshop, Counseling Principles, Public Speaking, Work Ethic, Confrontation, Ministry Gifts, etc.
The final 9 weeks is the Field Assignment. The objectives of the field assignment are for the students to.
• Increase skills in small group leadership
• Develop skills in team leadership
• Increase time management skills
• Learn to release the team members into their giftings
• Learn to flow in their gifting and leadership
The SALT school is a secondary school of YWAM's University of the Nations. A DTS is a pre-requisite to the SALT.
