REPUBLIC OF PANAMA
Panama is a beautiful land with many beaches, mountains and rivers. The country is famous for the Panama Canal, a 50 mile water way that links the Pacific and Atlantic Oceans. Panama officially received ownership of the canal on midnight of the new millennium.
Spanish is the main language spoken in Panama, but this Latin American country is actually a melting pot of diverse ethnic groups, with people of Indigenous, Latin, Caribbean, Asian, African, East Indian, North American and European descent.
Panama is also quickly growing and developing vast areas for retired Europeans and Americans. Many people are coming to Panama to retire due to the high value of the US dollar here and warm climate.
All this makes Panama unique for missions. Why? If you want to minister to Muslims, you can do it in Panama - in Spanish! If you feel a call to the Chinese, they make up a very large part of the population. You can minister to them - in Spanish! Name any of the world's major people groups or religions, and you will most likely find them in Panama.
